This sign is one of 20 large identical Outdoor Electronic Variable Message Displays supplied and installed by Scrimsign, in daily use now for almost 10 years, for Caledonian MacBrayne Ferry Services. This is used at their Ferry Terminals throughout the Western islands and over the Mainland of Scotland.
The local Ferry Terminal Managers personally control the live information displayed on each sign, making the alterations to schedules and destinations as weather and ferry conditions dictate.
